geographical position of a packet

I want to know if is it possible to determine a geograhical position of a packet?
if true, what class can use to do it?

I know that every country have it's own IP Addresses range so i guess you can use that.

thank you but on the pcapdotnet library there is a class called DnsRessourceGeographicalPosition which has properties that give longitude, latitude altitude of a point.
I want to know what does this class? could i not use it to do what i want?

Hi Barack1234,

DnsResourceDataGeographicalPosition is a class that represents a specific DNS resource record.
It will not give you the geographical location of a packet.
For more details, see https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1712

A packet doesn't encode its location, and the location of a packet changes when it's sent.

If you can provide more data of what exactly you want, it might be helpful.

My problem is that i want to determine the location of a packet which arrive to a spécific machine in my network. I don't know how to do it.

that means i want to localize the host which sent me packet. its country and city name

There are many services that contain geo ip information.
Google "geo ip" and see if you find something helpful.
